About

Daily contrarian swing strategy. Compares a short momentum “heat” score of Treasuries vs small caps, then buys one recently beaten‑down high‑octane ETF (bull or bear) from a preset list. Keeps a cash buffer. High turnover and volatility.
NutHow it works
Each day it compares a quick “heat” score (RSI: 0–100 of recent ups vs downs) of Treasuries (IEF) to small caps (IWM). If bonds’ score is higher, it buys 1 recently fallen bullish ETF (tech, small-caps, semis, China, biotech, ARK, long bonds). Otherwise it buys 1 fallen bearish ETF (inverse QQQ/ARKK/S&P, inverse bonds/biotech/real estate). ~70–80% invested; rest in cash. Very volatile.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~71% annualized return vs SPY ~24%, Calmar ~1.48, beta ~0.96. Daily contrarian swing with a cash buffer seeks outsized upside while moderating market risk—even if drawdowns can be larger than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
