A 4-part market-timing strategy that uses bond-market signals to choose between owning stocks, moving into bonds/cash, or betting against overheated stock areas.

This strategy splits money into 4 buckets. Each bucket watches a bond fund as a warning signal. If conditions look normal, it buys a stock fund. If that stock area looks too hot after a fast run-up, it switches to a fund that rises when that market falls. If bond conditions look weak enough, it hides in bonds or cash instead. It spreads across the S&P 500, Nasdaq, small-company stocks, and semiconductor stocks.

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
