A high-risk trading strategy that switches between bullish and bearish leveraged funds, buys the most beaten-down choice in the selected group, and then uses the calmer of two versions.

This strategy is a very aggressive market-timing system. It first asks whether the market looks more “defensive” or more “risk-seeking” by comparing short-term strength in government bond funds versus stock funds. Then it chooses either a bullish basket or a bearish basket of funds, and from that basket buys the one that has fallen the most very recently, betting on a snapback. It runs two similar versions of this process and keeps the one that has been less volatile lately.
