About
A daily all-or-nothing strategy: if market fear is very high, it bets against the S&P 500; otherwise it uses a telecom volatility signal to choose a leveraged bet on either Microsoft or Apple.
Each day, the strategy makes one simple choice.
1) It first checks whether market fear has been rising sharply, using VIXM as a fear gauge. If fear is very high, it buys SPXU, which is designed to rise when the S&P 500 falls.
2) If fear is not extreme, it compares how jumpy T-Mobile has been versus AT&T over the last 10 days. If T-Mobile has been more volatile, it buys MSFU, a fund that gives amplified exposure to Microsoft. Otherwise, it buys AAPU, which gives amplified exposure to Apple.
Out-of-sample: ~28.9% annualized return vs SPY ~21.3%. Fear-driven hedge (SPXU) and 1.5x leveraged MSFT/AAPL bets target higher upside; but drawdowns can exceed 50%.
