About

Rules-based, multi-asset, tactical portfolio. It leans into stocks in uptrends and defends in downturns, using simple “hot/cold” and trend gauges to switch among tech/broad equities, Treasuries, oil/commodities, cash-like bills, and volatility hedges.
NutHow it works
First it checks trend: if the S&P 500 fund (SPY) is above its 200‑day average, it treats it as an uptrend; otherwise a downtrend. It then uses a short‑term “hot/cold” meter (RSI: high=overheated, low=washed‑out) and short MAs to rotate among: tech/broad stocks (QQQ/TQQQ/SPY), cash‑like T‑Bills (SHV/SHY), Treasuries (TLT/TMF), oil/commodities (DBC/XLE/DBO/FCG), and volatility hedges (VIXY/UVXY/SVXY/BTAL). It may use inverse funds (PSQ/SQQQ/SH) in weak or choppy markets.
CheckmarkValue prop
Strong risk-adjusted returns with downside protection: ~18.3% annualized vs SPY ~18.7%, but max drawdown ~14.8% vs ~18.8% for SPY; Calmar ~1.24. Diversified, rules-based rotation aims to preserve upside with less risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
