A fast-moving dip-buying strategy that uses aggressive 3x stock funds after sharp selloffs, but shifts toward bonds when markets look weak or after a quick rebound.

This strategy is a rules-based “buy the dip” plan. If the U.S. stock market (SPY) has fallen more than 5% in 5 trading days, it buys beaten-down stock funds—often using extra-aggressive 3x funds tied to the Nasdaq, S&P 500, semiconductors, and small companies. If one of those has already bounced hard in a day, it tones that piece down by putting 75% into short-term bonds (BSV) and 25% into the normal stock fund instead. If the market has not had that sharp drop, it becomes simpler: if the long-term market trend is healthy, it holds a mix of major U.S. stock areas; if not, it moves to short-term bonds.

Out-of-sample annualized return 26.9% vs SPY 20.9%, driven by disciplined dip-buying with 3x tech exposure and a bond hedge after sharp moves. Higher upside but larger drawdowns (35.7% vs 18.8%); risk-adjusted return slightly lower (Sharpe ~0.97 vs ~1.35).
