About
Daily, it rotates between turbocharged gold‑miner up (GDXU), down (GDXD), or plain gold (GLD). It uses a “too hot/too cold” reading on miners and quick tech-vs-bonds checks to decide. Defensive holding is GLD, not cash.
It switches daily among:
- GDXU/GDXD = 3x up/down funds on gold‑miner stocks
- GLD = gold (defensive)
- QQQ (big tech) and TLT (long Treasuries) are signals only
First it checks a “speed” gauge on miners (RSI = balance of recent up vs down days). Very hot → bet on a pullback (GDXD). Very cold → look for a rebound: if tech is firm and miners just dipped again, buy GDXU; else stay in GLD. Neutral → GLD.
Out-of-sample edge: ~25% annualized return with solid risk-adjusted metrics (Calmar ~1.30, alpha ~0.81%), and a positive Sharpe (~0.68) vs S&P. Max drawdown ~19% with diversification from gold miners and gold.
