About

A tactical gold‑miner strategy that flips between 3x long, 3x short, or cash. It fades extremes (RSI) and, otherwise, uses simple trend checks in the Nasdaq‑100 and Treasuries to choose direction. Very volatile due to 3x ETNs.
NutHow it works
This strategy trades gold‑miner swings using three choices: 3x up (GDXU), 3x down (GDXD), or cash (BIL). It reads a 10‑day “speedometer” of recent moves (RSI). If miners look too hot, it bets against them; if too cold, it bets on them. Otherwise it checks simple trend math: how the Nasdaq‑100 (QQQ) has done over 90 vs 70 days and whether miners improved over the last 5 days. If not, it compares long Treasuries (TLT) vs QQQ to decide between shorting miners or holding cash.
CheckmarkValue prop
Regime-aware gold-miner strategy with 3x exposure. Out-of-sample: ~126.5% annualized return, Calmar 3.28, Sharpe 1.42. Offers meaningful upside and risk-adjusted edge vs the S&P, plus diversification from regime signals, albeit with higher drawdowns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
