About

A rules-based, All Weather-style portfolio that follows trends across stocks, Treasuries, gold, commodities, the U.S. dollar, and energy—cutting risk to short‑term Treasuries in weak markets and adding tactical hedges or leverage when signals are strong.
NutHow it works
It mixes an “All Weather” core (stocks, Treasuries, gold, commodities) with tactical add‑ons. Each sleeve turns on when price trends up (price above long averages). If trends weaken or get very “hot,” it cuts risk or parks in short‑Treasury ETFs (SHV/SHY). In bears, it can hedge or use inverse funds.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers superior risk-adjusted performance vs the S&P 500: Sharpe 1.76 vs 1.23, Calmar 2.31, beta ~0.42, drawdown 7.46% vs 18.76%. Return ~17.22% vs ~21.40%, but with far lower downside risk and smoother volatility.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
