About

A monthly, one‑ETF momentum strategy gated by Bitcoin’s trend: if BTC is rising, choose the 6‑month top performer from aggressive sector funds; if falling, choose the recent 3‑week leader from defensive/growth ETFs.
NutHow it works
Each month, the model asks: Is Bitcoin above its 84‑day average price (a simple trend gauge)? If yes, buy 1 ETF: the best 139‑day performer from aggressive bull/bear sector funds or cash (e.g., semiconductors, Nasdaq‑100). If no, buy 1 ETF: the best 13‑day performer from defensive/growth choices (gold, broad commodities, low‑vol S&P 500, large‑cap growth). Hold until next month.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy shows superior risk-adjusted returns: Sharpe ~3.44 vs SPY ~1.67 and annualized ~358% vs ~20%, driven by a Bitcoin regime switch that rides trends and shifts to defense in pullbacks. Drawdown is higher than SPY, but upside potential is substantial.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
