About

A daily, rules‑based switch that owns Utilities or Staples only when recent‑performance tests pass; otherwise it parks in T‑Bills. Signals use simple “what rose more over N days” checks across related stock and bond ETFs.
NutHow it works
Each day, simple if‑then rules compare recent gains between ETFs over set day windows. Targets: Utilities (XLU) and Consumer Staples (XLP). Cash: T‑Bills (BIL). Triggers reference S&P 500 (SPY), large caps (VV), managed futures (KMLM), corp bonds (IGIB, CORP), aerospace/defense (DFEN), internet (FDN), transports (IYT). If a trigger is on, buy the target; else hold cash.
CheckmarkValue prop
Defensive, rules-based strategy that buys Utilities/Staples only on positive momentum and otherwise stays in cash. Out-of-sample: lower drawdowns (~4%) and solid risk-adjusted return (Calmar ~2.28) vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
