About

A daily, long-only basket of five assets selected by the lowest 30-day moving-average price, weighted by inverse recent volatility to control risk.
NutHow it works
Here's how it works in plain terms: - You start with a list of stock market proxies and related funds (for example SPY tracks the S&P 500; QQQ tracks the Nasdaq 100; DIA tracks the Dow; IWM tracks small/mid caps; plus other ETFs like GLD for gold, SLV for silver, and some leverage plays). - For each asset, you calculate its 30-day moving-average price. This is a smoothed price that helps you see the general price level over the last month. - Rank all assets by that 30-day average and pick the five with the lowest values (the “bottom five”). - For these five, measure how volatile they have been over the same 30 days (how much their price bounced around). - Allocate your money to those five inversely by volatility: the steadier (less price movement) assets get larger shares, the more volatile ones get smaller shares, so the total adds up to 100%. - Rebalance every trading day to keep these rules in place. What you actually own is five assets at any time, chosen by this rule-based screen and weighted by how calm they have been recently, with all-cash-on-hand avoided unless there are no signals.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
