About

A rules-based, trend-and-momentum portfolio that rotates among leveraged stock, bond, commodity, and volatility ETFs. It aims to ride uptrends, move to cash or hedge when overheated, and short or go defensive in downtrends.
NutHow it works
RSI is a 0–100 “heat” gauge: >80 = too hot, <30 = washed‑out. A moving average is the average price over X days; above it = uptrend, below = downtrend. The strategy shifts across sleeves: in stock uptrends it owns amplified stock funds; if things get too hot it parks in cash‑like Treasuries or hedges with VIX. In downtrends it may short or go defensive. Separate sleeves trend‑follow bonds and commodities. Uses leveraged/vol ETFs—big swings are possible.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: 12.65% annualized return, 12.08% max drawdown, Calmar 1.05, Sharpe 0.76, beta 0.69 to SPY. Delivers meaningful upside while cutting losses when markets cool, offering better downside protection and diversification than SPY.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
