About

Daily swings between a 3× biotech bull (LABU) or bear (LABD) ETF using short‑term momentum of stocks vs bonds (IWM vs IEF), plus SPY and TMF checks. Seeks to ride big biotech moves; extremely concentrated and high risk.
NutHow it works
Each day it picks one fund to hold: LABU (3× bullish biotech) or LABD (3× bearish biotech). It uses a short‑term “momentum score” (RSI: 0–100, higher = more recent buying) on SPY (S&P 500), IWM (small‑caps), IEF (7–10yr US Treasuries), and TMF (3× long Treasuries). If SPY is very strong, it also checks TMF and flips the stock‑vs‑bond rule. If stocks look stronger than bonds under that rule it buys LABU; otherwise LABD. Most capital goes to the pick; the rest sits in cash. Very volatile.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets ~39.7% annualized return vs ~19% for SPY, with similar market beta but higher volatility. Expect drawdowns near 68%, but with solid risk-adjusted upside (oos Sharpe ~0.82) from biotech momentum.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
