About
Momentum-driven, single-asset allocation using leveraged tech/semiconductor ETFs with a managed-futures hedge; cash when risk is high, otherwise buy the strongest trend signal, selecting one instrument at a time and avoiding frequent rebalancing.
- The system runs a set of rules to decide where to put all your capital today.
- It starts by checking whether risk signals are high (volatility and momentum indicators tied to TQQQ and VIX-related signals). If risk is elevated, the rulebook pushes you into cash (no exposure).
- If not in cash, the strategy looks for the strongest momentum among a small group of fast-moving ETFs focused on tech and semiconductors (examples: SOXL for semiconductors, TECL for tech). It uses a comparison against KMLM (the managed futures hedge) to gauge whether the tech/semiconductor momentum is outperforming the hedge.
- If a leveraged tech/semiconductor ETF shows stronger momentum than KMLM, you allocate 100% to that ETF (i.e., the entire capital goes into that one instrument).
- If those conditions aren’t met, the logic examines alternate paths (including QQQ and other related assets) and may still funnel into KMLM or a single other instrument, based on further momentum checks.
- In parallel, there is a top-down filter step that can pick the single best asset from a short list using a 14-day momentum ranking, and it tends to choose the top-ranked instrument (often between KMLM and QQQ).
- Rebalancing is not automatic on a frequent cadence; it follows the decision points (no constant daily rebalancing) and targets a narrow adjustment window (a small corridor around changes).
- The overall posture is: stay in cash when risk is high, otherwise chase the strongest trend with a single, leveraged equity ETF, using KMLM as a hedge/reference in several branches. If none of the conditions fires, the strategy falls back to the top-ranked option between KMLM and QQQ.
Out-of-sample, this momentum strategy sits in cash when risk spikes and then goes all-in on the strongest tech/semiconductor trend with a managed-futures hedge. It adds diversification and a distinct risk/return profile alongside the S&P 500.
