About

Daily, rules‑based US stock mix. Holds SPY/QQQ/DIA/IWM when they trend up. If markets look overheated, flips to a volatility hedge (VIXY). In downtrends it either buys deep dips with 3× funds or parks in a defensive market‑neutral ETF (BTAL).
NutHow it works
Split into 4 sleeves: SPY 35%, QQQ 30%, DIA 20%, IWM 15%. Each day per sleeve: If price is above its 200‑day average (long‑term uptrend), own it—unless a 10‑day “heat” score (RSI) is very high, then switch to VIXY (a volatility hedge). If below the 200‑day, buy a 3× version on extreme dips; otherwise own it only when above its 30‑day average, else hold BTAL (a defensive, market‑neutral fund).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, a four-sleeve rules-based strategy delivers ~51.7% annualized return vs ~18.3% for the S&P, with Sharpe ~1.27 vs ~1.04 and Calmar ~2.30. Drawdowns are higher (~22% vs ~19%), but hedges and dip-buying boost risk-adjusted gains.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
