About

A daily tactical strategy for Japan: uses a long‑term trend check and short‑term “heat/cold” scores to switch among 2x long Japan (EZJ), 2x short Japan (EWV), US Treasuries (TLT), yen (FXY), cash‑like T‑Bills (BIL), and a volatility hedge (UVXY).
NutHow it works
It’s a daily, Japan‑focused switcher. - Step 1 (trend test): Is Japan (EWJ) above its 200‑day average price? If yes, it holds a 2x Japan fund (EZJ). If Japan looks extremely “hot” short‑term (high 10‑day RSI = a heat score of recent ups vs downs), it briefly uses a volatility hedge (UVXY). - If no uptrend, it turns defensive. When stress rises (volatility’s heat score is high), about 15% parks in T‑Bills (BIL). Otherwise it picks the strongest of: 2x short Japan (EWV), long US Treasuries (TLT), or long yen (FXY). Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this Japan-focused tactical strategy delivers far stronger risk-adjusted returns than the S&P: Sharpe ~3.01 vs ~1.66, Calmar ~12.4, and annualized return ~139.8% vs ~19.95%. Added diversification from Yen, Treasuries, cash, and volatility hedges.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
