About

Daily, it first checks for crash warnings and may briefly buy a volatility hedge. If no alarm, a TIPS “canary” decides offense vs. cash. In offense, it owns the 4 strongest assets (stocks, bonds, commodities, real estate) by multi‑window momentum.
NutHow it works
Each day: 1) Look for crash warnings. If markets look “too hot” or volatility is heating up, switch to a volatility hedge (UVXY). If it’s already extreme, sit in T‑Bills (BIL). 2) If no alarm, check TIP (a TIPS bond fund). If its 1‑yr trend is up, go Offensive; if not, hold BIL. Offensive = equally own the 4 strongest among US/global stocks, Treasuries, commodities, real estate, or BIL by 1‑yr to 1‑mo trend.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: lower drawdown (12.8% vs ~18.8% for the S&P) and stronger risk-adjusted returns (Sharpe ~1.18, Calmar ~1.25), with positive alpha, delivering steadier, potentially smoother long-term growth than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
