A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

A daily trend-and-momentum strategy that splits money between energy themes (oil, natural gas, clean energy) and macro hedges (long/short Treasuries and gold), rotating in or out based on trend and short‑term “overbought/oversold” signals.
NutHow it works
It’s a daily, rules-based plan split into two parts: 1) Energy trades (natural gas, oil, clean‑energy stocks, XLE). 2) Macro hedges (long/short long‑term Treasuries and gold). It buys when faster price trends beat slower ones, and moves to cash‑like Treasury ETFs or inverse funds when trends turn down. A short‑term “speedometer” (RSI) helps buy dips or cool off. Uses some 2x/3x funds—expect bigger swings.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers strong risk-adjusted returns (Calmar ≈3.2) and lower drawdowns (~6.5% vs ~7.5% for SPY) by blending energy trend momentum with macro hedges for disciplined upside and downside protection.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
