About
A one-holding strategy that moves to safe bonds during market stress, otherwise using the U.S. dollar’s trend to bet for or against emerging markets and buying the recent laggard for a rebound.
This strategy usually owns just one investment at a time.
1) If market fear is high, it hides in short-term U.S. government bonds (SHY).
2) If fear is normal, it looks at the U.S. dollar. A weak dollar leads it to bet on emerging-market stock funds; a strong dollar leads it to bet against emerging markets or in favor of the dollar.
3) In either case, it buys the one that has fallen the most very recently, hoping for a bounce.
Higher upside potential with crisis protection: out-of-sample return ~27.36% vs SPY ~21.95%, negative beta, and a built-in crash shield when fear spikes. Expect larger drawdowns in stress periods—suited for risk-tolerant investors seeking diversification beyond the S&P 500.
