About

A tactical, one‑at‑a‑time switch: hide in short‑term Treasuries when market fear spikes; otherwise, ride emerging‑market stocks when the US dollar weakens, or bet against EM/own the dollar when it strengthens. Uses leveraged ETFs for bigger moves.
NutHow it works
1) If a “fear gauge” (VIXY, an ETF tied to market volatility) is running hot, it shifts into SHY (short‑term US Treasuries). 2) Otherwise it checks the US dollar trend via UUP: if short‑term is below long‑term (USD weakening), it buys one leveraged EM stock fund (EDC; KORU=Korea; INDL=India; BRZU=Brazil) — picking the one that fell most over the last week. If USD is strong, it buys either EDZ (EM bear) or USDU (long USD), whichever fell most. Holds one fund at a time.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this tactical, single-position strategy delivers higher growth (25.5% annualized vs 23.3% for the S&P 500) with built-in hedges for volatility and USD regimes, targeting stronger upside in volatile markets.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
