About

A rules-based EM strategy with a crash escape hatch. If fear is high, hold SHY. Otherwise, follow the US dollar trend: when the dollar weakens, buy a single leveraged EM bull ETF that just dipped; when the dollar strengthens, buy EDZ (EM bear) or USDU (long USD).
NutHow it works
- If fear stays high (VIXY = a volatility/fear fund), park in SHY (short‑term US Treasuries). - Else check the US dollar (UUP). If its 15‑day average is below its 200‑day average (dollar weakening), buy one EM bull fund—EDC (EM), KORU (Korea), INDL (India), or BRZU (Brazil)—that just dipped the most (lowest 5‑day RSI). - If the dollar is strong, buy the bigger dip between EDZ (3x EM bear) and USDU (long USD). RSI is a 0–100 recent‑moves gauge; low = recently fell. EMA is a smoothed average price.
CheckmarkValue prop
Adaptive EM/USD strategy offers higher upside: out-of-sample annualized return 26.49% vs SPY’s 23.30%, with a crash hedge and USD-regime rules. Note: max drawdown 41.67% vs 18.76% for SPY and lower risk-adjusted Sharpe.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
