About
Tactical EM strategy that flips long/short using simple traffic lights: SPY’s 200‑day trend sets risk, an oversold trigger buys dips, and bond‑vs‑stock momentum (RSI) picks direction. Uses EDC/EEM for longs, EDZ or T‑Bills to hedge. Rebalanced daily.
It trades emerging‑market stocks: long with EEM or 3x EDC, short with −3x EDZ; spare cash sits in T‑Bills (BIL/SHV).
Main switch: if the US market (SPY) is above its 200‑day average, it uses larger/levered bets; if below, smaller/hedged bets.
RSI (0–100 gauge of recent moves): if EM is very oversold (<25), buy a bounce (≈68% EDC, 32% T‑Bills). Otherwise, compare short‑term strength of bonds (IEI/IGIB) vs stocks (IWM/SPY/EEM) to pick long vs short. Rebalanced daily.
Out-of-sample edge: annualized return ~148% vs SPY ~37%; Calmar ~9 vs ~7—stronger risk-adjusted upside. Expect higher drawdowns (~16.5% vs 5%), but EM long/short with hedges targets higher long-term growth than the S&P 500.
