About

A simple trend-following plan: risk-on in uptrends, spreading money across 10 stock and gold ETFs with more weight on steadier ones; risk-off in downtrends, moving to T-bills. Checked and rebalanced daily.
NutHow it works
It first checks the U.S. stock market’s trend using SPY (a fund tracking the S&P 500). If SPY is above its long-term 200‑day average, it invests in 10 ETFs: blue‑chips (DIA), small‑caps (IWM), value (IWX), dividends (SCHD), energy (VDE, XLE), industrials (XLI), defense (ITA), metals/mining (XME), and gold (GLD). Calmer funds (last ~50 days) get bigger weights. If SPY falls below that line, it moves 100% to T‑bills (BIL). Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample tests show stronger risk-adjusted returns vs the S&P 500, with lower drawdowns and solid upside in uptrends, thanks to a 200-day trend filter, diversified ETF weights, and cash protection in downturns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
