What is TSEC?

Touchstone Securitized Income ETF seeks total return through income and capital appreciation by primarily investing in a diversified portfolio of fixed income securities. The Fund will invest, under normal market conditions, at least 80% of its assets in securitized fixed-income securities. The Fund's 80% policy is a non-fundamental investment policy that can be changed by the Fund's Board upon 60 days' prior notice to shareholders. The Fund will invest in a variety of securitized fixed-income securities, including residential mortgage-backed securities ("RMBS"), commercial mortgage-backed securities ("CMBS"), asset-backed securities ("ABS"), and collateralized loan obligations ("CLOs"). RMBS are fixed-income securities representing an interest in a pool of underlying residential mortgage loans, while CMBS include securities that reflect an interest in, and are secured by, mortgage loans on commercial real estate.

What is ETF correlation?

Correlation is a measure of the strength of the relationship between two ETFs. It quantifies the degree to which prices of the two ETFs typically move together.

Here, correlation is measured over the past year with the Pearson correlation coefficient (Pearon’s r), which ranges from -1 to 1.

Using ETF correlations in portfolio and strategy construction

ETF correlations can help you create investing strategies and portfolios. Use them to:

  • Build a diversified portfolio from uncorrelated or inversely correlated ETFs with the aim of minimizing portfolio risk.
  • Compare correlated or related ETFs to find one with a lower expense ratio or higher trading volume.
  • Create an investing strategy that hedges an ETF with an uncorrelated or inversely correlated ETF.
