What is UNIY?

WisdomTree Voya Yield Enhanced USD Universal Bond Fund employs a passive management or indexing, investment approach designed to track the performance of the Index. The Fund generally uses a representative sampling strategy to achieve its investment objective, meaning it generally will invest in a sample of the securities in the Index whose risk, return and other characteristics resemble the risk, return, and other characteristics of the Index as a whole. The Index is comprised of USD-denominated bonds. The Index deconstructs the USD-denominated bond market, as represented by USD-denominated, taxable bonds that are rated either investment grade or high yield, into one of the five categories of debt described below. The constituents in each category, except for US Investment Grade Debt, are weighted by market capitalization. The weighting of the constituents in the US Investment Grade Debt category is determined by the Index Provider's proprietary weighting methodology.

What is ETF correlation?

Correlation is a measure of the strength of the relationship between two ETFs. It quantifies the degree to which prices of the two ETFs typically move together.

Here, correlation is measured over the past year with the Pearson correlation coefficient (Pearon’s r), which ranges from -1 to 1.

Using ETF correlations in portfolio and strategy construction

ETF correlations can help you create investing strategies and portfolios. Use them to:

  • Build a diversified portfolio from uncorrelated or inversely correlated ETFs with the aim of minimizing portfolio risk.
  • Compare correlated or related ETFs to find one with a lower expense ratio or higher trading volume.
  • Create an investing strategy that hedges an ETF with an uncorrelated or inversely correlated ETF.
