What is KRUZ?

Subversive Unusual Whales Republican ETF is an actively managed diversified exchange-traded fund ("ETF") that seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing primarily in equity securities of publicly traded companies that sitting Republican members of the United States Congress and/or their families also have reported to have invested in through public disclosure filings made by such Congresspersons pursuant to the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act ("STOCK Act"). Members of Congress are permitted to actively trade stocks, options and other financial assets, including securities of companies that may be affected by the outcomes of legislative and executive meetings in which those members of Congress participated. Congresspeople (Senators and members of the House of Representatives) and/or their families are then required to report these transactions on STOCK Act filings, known as Periodic Transaction Reports ("PTRs"). PTRs are filed with either the Senate Office of Public Records or the Clerk of the House of Representatives and made available online pursuant to the Ethics in Government Act ("EIGA"), as amended.

What is ETF correlation?

Correlation is a measure of the strength of the relationship between two ETFs. It quantifies the degree to which prices of the two ETFs typically move together.

Here, correlation is measured over the past year with the Pearson correlation coefficient (Pearon’s r), which ranges from -1 to 1.

Using ETF correlations in portfolio and strategy construction

ETF correlations can help you create investing strategies and portfolios. Use them to:

  • Build a diversified portfolio from uncorrelated or inversely correlated ETFs with the aim of minimizing portfolio risk.
  • Compare correlated or related ETFs to find one with a lower expense ratio or higher trading volume.
  • Create an investing strategy that hedges an ETF with an uncorrelated or inversely correlated ETF.
