About

A mostly stock portfolio (about 88.5% US + international) with a small Treasury bond cushion (about 11.5%), built by blending conservative, moderate, and aggressive sleeves using low-cost Vanguard ETFs. No market timing or automatic rebalancing.
NutHow it works
It blends three sleeves: 10% Conservative, 15% Moderate, 75% Aggressive. Each sleeve holds simple mixes of four Vanguard funds (US stocks, international stocks, long US Treasuries, short US Treasuries). Combined, that nets about 60.5% US stocks, 28% international stocks, 8% long Treasuries, 3.5% short Treasuries. No market timing and no automatic rebalancing.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 28.49% vs 25.19% annualized return; Sharpe 2.67 vs 2.11; max drawdown 4.62% vs 5.07%; Calmar 6.17; beta ~0.85. Higher growth with downside protection from global stocks and Treasuries ballast.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
