About

Daily toggles between QQQ (big tech) and GLD (gold) using SPY’s 200‑day trend and a short‑term RSI heat gauge. In uptrends it favors QQQ unless overheated; in downtrends it buys QQQ on deep dips, otherwise parks in gold.
NutHow it works
It switches daily between QQQ (Nasdaq‑100, big tech) and GLD (gold). SPY (S&P 500) sets the backdrop: if SPY is above its 200‑day average (long‑term uptrend), it holds QQQ unless QQQ or SPY looks “too hot” (10‑day RSI>79; RSI is a 0–100 heat gauge) → then GLD. If SPY is below its 200‑day, it buys QQQ on big dips (very low RSI). Otherwise it uses GLD when QQQ is under its 20‑day average or is “too hot”; else QQQ.
CheckmarkValue prop
Regime-based QQQ/GLD strategy uses SPY trend signals for diversification. OOS: ~12.1% annual return, Calmar 1.54, but higher drawdown (7.88%) and lower Sharpe than SPY. A risk-aware way to diversify beyond SPY.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
