About

Equal-weight, buy-and-hold mix of U.S. large-cap growth index funds (e.g., SPY/QQQ) plus covered-call income ETFs (JEPI/JEPQ/GPIX/GPIQ). Tech-tilted, high overlap, higher income than pure indexes but some upside is capped.
NutHow it works
Money is split equally across 10 U.S. stock ETFs. Six track growth-heavy big-company indexes (SPY, QQQ, SCHG, IWY, MGK, SPMO). Four are premium-income funds (JEPI, JEPQ, GPIX, GPIQ) that own similar stocks but sell call options for cash flow, trading some upside for steadier income. Buy-and-hold; no auto rebalancing.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: 34.44% annualized return vs SPY’s 33.14%, with a Calmar near 5.73—strong upside and drawdown efficiency. Slightly larger max drawdown (6.01% vs 5.07%), but the growth-plus-covered-call mix delivers better risk-adjusted return and cash flow than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
