About

Buys 3× QQQ on deep dips, shifts to a volatility hedge when QQQ looks overheated, otherwise sits in the calmest of staples, quality bonds, or QQQ. Signals come from QQQ’s 10‑day RSI. One ETF at a time; checked daily.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks QQQ (Nasdaq‑100 tech giants) with a 10‑day RSI—a 0–100 “speedometer” of how fast price has moved. If very hot (>79), it goes defensive in VXX (tends to rise when stocks drop). If very cold (<=28), it buys TQQQ (3× QQQ) to bet on a rebound. Otherwise it holds the least‑hot of XLP (consumer‑staples stocks), IGLB (quality long corporate bonds), or QQQ. One holding; rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy beats the S&P on risk-adjusted terms: annualized return ~37% vs 28%, Sharpe ~2.68, Calmar ~7.89, max drawdown ~4.73% vs 5.07%, beta ~0.48. It fades rallies, buys dips, and stays defensive when risk rises.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
