A fast-moving market-timing strategy that usually bets hard on leveraged tech, sometimes bets on a volatility spike, and falls back to staples or bonds when conditions look less favorable.

This strategy checks the market every day. If tech or the broad market has fallen hard recently, it buys TQQQ, a very aggressive fund that amplifies big-tech moves. If many market areas look too hot after a sharp run-up, it buys UVXY, which tends to jump when fear spikes. Otherwise, it uses the S&P 500 trend plus bond/cash signals to choose either TQQQ or a defensive holding: consumer staples (XLP) or bonds (VBF).

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
