About

Rules-based US strategy that rotates among QQQ (large-cap growth), SPMO (S&P momentum), SPLV (low-vol S&P), and BSV (short-term bonds). Uses SPY’s 200‑day trend and RSI “heat” signals to switch between offense and defense, with no leveraged holdings.
NutHow it works
Regime: If SPY is above its 200‑day average (uptrend), go on offense; else play defense. A moving average is the typical price over N days; above it implies strength. RSI is a 0–100 “heat meter” (>70 hot, <30 cold). Offense: default QQQ or QQQ+SPMO; switch to SPLV+BSV when fast gauges (TQQQ/SPXL/UVXY) look overheated or after sharp drops/rebounds or deep recent drawdowns (with bonds firm). Defense: after oversold, buy QQQ or SPY; otherwise SPLV+BSV.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Sharpe ~2.04 vs SPY 1.37; annualized return ~47.9% vs 28.5%; max drawdown ~9.1% vs 12.7%; Calmar ~5.27. A rules-based regime-switching strategy targeting higher risk-adjusted gains with lower drawdowns than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
