About

A daily, real‑estate–focused strategy that toggles between XLRE (long real estate) and REK (inverse real estate). It uses long- and short-term trend filters plus an overbought/oversold gauge (RSI) to buy dips and short when the sector looks too hot.
NutHow it works
What it trades: XLRE (an ETF of U.S. real‑estate stocks/REITs) or REK (an ETF that goes up when real‑estate stocks fall, about −1x). It checks trend with moving averages (average price over 100 vs 400 days, and 10 vs 20 days). It then uses RSI—a 0–100 gauge of how “hot” or “oversold” a price is. It buys XLRE when the sector looks cool/oversold; if it looks too hot, it switches to REK. Rebalances daily; always 100% in one or the other.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample performance: 24.1% annualized return vs S&P 500's 16.4%; max drawdown 12.1% vs 18.8%; Sharpe 1.41 vs 0.89; Calmar 1.98. Real-estate sector tilt with disciplined rules offers upside with lower downside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
