About

A daily binary rule: if XLP’s 10-day momentum > 75, invest 100% in UVXY; otherwise invest 100% in BIL.
NutHow it works
Every trading day, the strategy looks at the XLP sector to see how strong its recent move has been. If XLP’s 10-day momentum reading is above 75, you put all your money into UVXY (a volatile fund that tends to rise when fear spikes). If XLP’s momentum is 75 or below, you put all your money into BIL (a very short-term government-cash proxy). The allocation is 100% to the chosen asset, with the decision evaluated and executed daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Volatility-hedge overlay: go UVXY on XLP momentum, else cash. Provides diversification and tail-risk protection during spikes. Note: out-of-sample results lag the S&P with larger drawdowns; best used as a hedging sleeve, not core equity.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
