About

A rules-based, risk-on/risk-off mix that leans into 3x US stock funds in calm uptrends and flips to cash/Treasuries, the US dollar, and occasional hedges when fear or rate stress rises. Uses trend, drawdown, and volatility cues.
NutHow it works
Splits 60/40 across two rule sets. When trends are healthy (bonds beat cash; no big 10-day drops), it loads leveraged US stocks: UPRO=3x S&P 500, TQQQ=3x Nasdaq, sometimes with bonds (BND). If stress appears (VIXM RSI high=fear; sharp drops; or rising rates), it shifts to safety: cash/T-Bills (BIL), short-term Treasuries (SHY), strong US dollar (UUP), and sometimes short tech (SQQQ) or short Treasuries (TBF). Signals: RSI (0-100 heat), recent returns, 200-day trend, max drawdown. Weights favor steadier funds (inverse-vol).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this two-sleeve, rules-based strategy targets higher annualized returns (23.65% vs 22.67% for SPY) with adaptive hedges (cash/treasuries/USD) to navigate regime shifts and capture upside, offering diversification beyond the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
