About

A daily, contrarian, high‑risk swing strategy. It compares short‑term strength of bonds (IEI) vs high‑beta stocks (SPHB), then buys the single most beaten‑down ETF from a bullish or inverse list, betting on a quick bounce. Uses leveraged/inverse funds.
NutHow it works
Each day it compares a 7‑day “up‑vs‑down” score (RSI) for IEI (3–7yr U.S. Treasuries) vs SPHB (more jumpy S&P 500 stocks). If bonds’ score is higher, it buys 1 beaten‑down fund from a bullish list; otherwise it buys 1 inverse fund. It picks the worst 4‑day performer in that list, rebalancing daily. 95% main menu, 5% a similar satellite. Very risky due to leveraged/inverse ETFs.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this daily contrarian strategy targets ~85% annualized return vs the S&P 500’s ~23%, with a Calmar ~2.0. Higher drawdowns (~42%) are the trade-off for outsized upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
