A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

A short‑term, contrarian swing strategy. It compares 10‑day momentum of bonds (SCHZ) vs small‑caps (URTY), then buys one ETF: either a leveraged bull or an inverse fund—whichever from its list has dropped most in the last 4 days—aiming for a quick rebound.
NutHow it works
Every day it compares recent “heat” (10‑day RSI) of bonds (SCHZ) vs small‑caps (URTY). If bonds look hotter, it buys the single most beaten‑down bullish ETF from a preset list. If small‑caps look hotter, it buys the most beaten‑down inverse ETF instead. It holds for about 15 trading days, then rechecks.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy aims for higher upside than the S&P: ~26.9% annualized vs 25.8%. It uses regime-aware, short-term contrarian bets with leveraged/inverse ETFs. Expect larger drawdowns (~55%); best for risk-tolerant, active investors.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
