About

Daily switch between 3x S&P 500 (SPXL) and T‑bills (BIL). Stay in SPXL when market fear (VIXY) is easing; if fear is high, only buy SPXL when the S&P 500 looks very oversold; otherwise sit in BIL. High risk during SPXL periods.
NutHow it works
Every day, it checks the market’s “fear gauge” (VIXY). If VIXY is below its 9‑day average (fear easing), go 100% into SPXL (a fund that magnifies S&P 500 moves). If fear isn’t easing, it checks if the S&P 500 is very sold off (RSI(10) < 30). If yes, go 100% SPXL; otherwise hold BIL (T‑bills).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Sharpe ≈ 1.01 vs SPY ≈ 0.93; oos annualized return ≈ 42% vs ≈ 17% for the S&P; Calmar ≈ 1.40; alpha ≈ +0.11%. Tactical SPXL/BIL shifts seek higher upside with higher drawdowns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
