About

A daily, tactical “risk‑on/risk‑off” switch. Uses long‑term trends and RSI (how hot/cold recent moves are) to rotate among leveraged equity, volatility, defensive sectors with Treasuries, or inverse/USD plays. High risk; frequent rebalancing.
NutHow it works
Daily, it asks: are bonds (BND) above their 200‑day average (a long‑term trend line)? If yes, it’s risk‑on; if no, risk‑off. RSI (0–100; high=“hot”) flags when fear (VIXY) or stocks are overheated. Risk‑on: if fear is hot, buy a volatility ETF; else if the S&P 500 is trending up, buy the less‑hot of SPXL (S&P 3x) or TQQQ (Nasdaq 3x). If stocks are trending down, mix Treasuries (TLT) with sector bulls (utilities/real estate/consumer) that are in uptrends, or fall back to SSO (2x S&P). Risk‑off: choose the least‑hot of bearish stock ETFs or the US dollar (SQQQ, SPXS, DWSH, UUP). Keeps a small cash buffer and rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~58% annualized return vs SPY ~19%, Calmar ~1.07, Sharpe ~1.06. Dynamic risk-on/off rotations across stocks, vol, Treasuries and defensives offer higher upside with solid risk-adjusted results; note higher drawdown (~54%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
