This strategy keeps 70% in VTI, which owns a broad slice of the U.S. stock market. The other 30% is spread across five inflation-focused investments: gold (GLD), commodities like oil and metals (PDBC), real estate companies (VNQ), mortgage real estate income (REM), and inflation-protected bonds (TIP). Every 3 months, it resets the mix. Within that 30%, it gives bigger positions to the funds that have been less jumpy over the last 60 days and smaller positions to the more volatile ones.
