About

A daily, tactical risk-on/off ETF strategy. When stocks run hot it parks ~half in the strongest defensive macro fund(s). When not, it rotates among long Treasuries, leveraged tech (bull or bear), staples, and gold/oil using RSI, VIX, and trend filters.
NutHow it works
Step 1: Gauge if stocks are “hot” using a 0–100 speed meter (RSI) on QQQ/SPY/VTV. If hot, put ~50% into 1–2 defensive/macro funds—TMF (long Treasuries), UUP (US$), USO/DBO (oil), XLP (staples), XLV (healthcare)—picked by strongest 3‑day move; a VIXY 5‑day jump decides 1 vs 2. Else: favor TMF in broad uptrends; buy oversold tech for a bounce (TECL); or go risk‑on (TQQQ) if bonds beat short‑tech; otherwise hold staples+gold/oil above the 200‑day, or short tech (SQQQ/TECS) below it. Rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy outperforms the S&P on risk-adjusted terms: oos Sharpe 1.42 vs 0.87; Calmar ~3; oos annualized return ~112% vs 16.5%. It uses adaptive risk-on/off hedges to shift into defense when markets heat up, preserving upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
