This strategy is a bundle of many mini-strategies. Most of the time it tries to own whatever is acting strongest—often tech, semiconductors, or Nasdaq-related funds. When markets look overheated or dangerous, it can switch into fear/hedge funds, short-the-market funds, bonds, gold, the U.S. dollar, commodities, or KMLM (a trend-following fund that often behaves differently from stocks). It makes these switches using simple scorecards based on recent price behavior: whether prices are above long-term trend lines, whether they rose too fast, fell too hard, or became unusually volatile.
