About

Daily, contrarian swing strategy. It checks whether bonds or small‑caps have been stronger lately (via RSI). Then it buys the single most beaten‑down ETF from a preset list (bulls if bonds stronger; bears if stocks stronger). ~90% invested, ~10% cash.
NutHow it works
Each day it compares recent “strength” (RSI: a 0–100 gauge of recent up/down speed) of IEF (7–10yr US Treasuries) vs IWM (small‑cap US stocks). If bonds look stronger, it buys the single worst 4‑day performer from bullish ETFs (3x tech, 3x S&P 500, 3x long bonds, 3x EM, semis, 3x high‑beta). Otherwise it buys the single worst from bearish ETFs (inverse Nasdaq‑100, 3x inverse long/7–10yr Treasuries, 3x inverse real estate, 2x inverse junior gold miners). ~90% invested; rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~56% annualized return vs ~20% for the S&P, with Calmar ~1.57 and Sharpe ~0.99. A daily contrarian rotation across ETFs aims for repeatable upside and diversification beyond the S&P while keeping ~10% in cash.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
