About

A tactical, momentum‑driven switch. It compares recent strength across Energy vs Tech, then Bonds vs QQQ or Semis vs a managed‑futures fund (KMLM) to pick risk‑on (SVIX/SOXL) or risk‑off (inverse ETFs), with a T‑bill fallback. Uses very volatile products.
NutHow it works
It’s a switch that follows recent strength. “Strength” here means a simple recent‑moves score (RSI). First it checks which is stronger: Energy (XLE) or Tech (XLK). Then it compares Bonds (AGG) vs Big Tech (QQQ), or Semis (SMH) vs KMLM (a trend‑following fund that can do well when stocks struggle). If the stock side looks stronger, it goes risk‑on: either T‑Bills (BIL) if SVIX is weak, or one of SVIX (short VIX; bets on calm markets) or SOXL (3× semis). If the defensive side wins, it holds 3 inverse funds (SQQQ, TECS, SRTY, DRV, TMV). Around 90% goes into the chosen sleeve. These are very volatile funds.
CheckmarkValue prop
Dynamic regime-switching momentum strategy targets higher out-of-sample returns: ~24.5% annualized vs SPY ~19.6%, with built-in risk-on/off switching. Note higher drawdowns (~39% vs ~19%), but potentially stronger upside in trends.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
