A high-risk timing strategy that uses bond-market clues and a volatility “panic button” to decide how much to hold in leveraged S&P 500 funds versus safe short-term Treasury bills.
NutHow it works
Each week, the strategy first checks if market fear is unusually high using VIXY, a volatility fund. If fear is too high, it moves everything to very short-term Treasury bills (BIL). If fear is calmer, it gradually buys leveraged S&P 500 funds—2x (SSO) and 3x (SPXL)—based on 5 bond-market tests. More positive signals = more stock exposure; failed tests stay in BIL.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
