About

A daily “switchboard” of simple trend and risk checks. In uptrends it buys the top leveraged U.S. equity funds; in stress it rotates into safe havens (dollar, Treasuries, gold, commodities), guided by canaries like tech vs utilities and lumber vs gold.
NutHow it works
Each day it flips between “risk on” and “risk off.” - Risk on: SPY is in an uptrend (price above its 20/50/200‑day averages—just the average price over those days). It buys the 2 strongest leveraged stock funds (SPXL/TQQQ/UDOW). - Risk off: otherwise it holds 4 “safe havens,” ranked by recent strength: US dollar, long Treasuries, gold, broad commodities, utilities, oil & gas, or volatility funds. - Extra “canaries” (tech vs utilities, lumber vs gold, bonds vs cash) push the same way. - If inflation‑linked bonds (TIP) are rising, it briefly favors the strongest mega‑caps; if a heat gauge of buying/selling (RSI) runs hot, it shifts to T‑Bills or hedges.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets ~40% annualized returns vs ~26% on the S&P, with Sharpe ~1.43 and Calmar ~1.38. Expect higher drawdowns (~29%) in downturns, but a dynamic risk-on/off approach aims to outperform while managing risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
