About

A contrarian, defense‑first system that bets against overheated stocks and sectors using inverse ETFs and VIX‑linked funds. It toggles between shorting the market and shorting volatility, with cash‑like fallback during sharp selloffs.
NutHow it works
It watches a 0–100 “heat” gauge (RSI). When indexes or sectors look too hot, it buys inverse funds that rise if those areas fall (tech: SQQQ/TECS, S&P 500: SPXU, energy: SCO, financials: FAZ) or a fear fund (UVXY). It then manages fear: if fear is spiking, it holds UVXY/VIXY; if calming, it shifts to shorting fear (SVIX) mixed with shorting stocks (SPXU). In sudden plunges it parks in T‑Bills (BIL) or BTAL. If no signal, it holds SPY or cash.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~32% annualized return with crash-defense hedging, aiming to beat SPY’s ~24%. Structured hedges and cash safeties seek protection in spikes, though drawdowns can be larger (≈29% vs ≈19%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
