A high-risk bear-market strategy that tries to catch crash spikes, oversold rebounds, and defensive rotations using tech, semis, volatility funds, inverse funds, and T-bills.

This strategy watches the broad market, big tech, and chip stocks. If fear in the market looks extreme, it can buy a volatility fund that tends to jump during crashes. If stocks look heavily beaten down, it may buy aggressive “bounce” funds. Otherwise it uses a bear-market playbook: sometimes bet against tech, sometimes hold defensive consumer-staples stocks, sometimes hold QQQ, and often hide in very short-term Treasury bills (BIL).

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
