About

A daily, volatility‑timed mix: calm markets use aggressive 3x Tech/Healthcare; as markets get choppier it shifts to SPY, then adds more long‑term Treasuries (TLT). Simple rules aim to take more risk when calm and cut risk when rough.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks how “bumpy” the S&P 500 (SPY) has been over the last 21 trading days (how much it’s been swinging). Calm (≤1): 50% TECL (3x Tech) + 50% CURE (3x Healthcare). 1–2: 100% SPY. 2–3: 75% SPY + 25% TLT (long‑term U.S. Treasuries). >3: 50% SPY + 50% TLT. Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this volatility-timed strategy aims for about 36% annualized returns vs ~22% for the S&P 500, with strong gains in calm markets and a built-in hedge in turbulence—though max drawdowns can exceed 40% under stress.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
